Mark felt like a bundle of nerves from Billy’s chat. He ran a brush through his hair and tried to think of the positive that may come out of this. The most important point being, Alexander not picking up rough boys to screw. That was one big aspect of Billy’s influence to be thankful for. Not to mention, Billy was going to be Alex’s personal bodyguard if anyone even thought twice about assaulting him.

“You almost ready? Jack and Adam should be coming by soon.” Steve folded his leather pants and vest into a canvas bag. Mark placed the hairbrush down on his dresser. “If I don’t call Angel, I’ll be distracted through the session.”

“Then call now. I’ll hang out downstairs for the guys.” Steve carried the tote bag out with him.

Mark sat on the edge of the bed and composed himself. He picked up the cordless phone from the nightstand and dialed Angel’s number, checking the time on his watch.

“Hello?”

“Angel. It’s Mark.”

“Hi, Mark.”

“How are you, love?”

“I take it you heard.”

“Yes, my pet. Billy was just here to inform us of what’s going on.” Mark heard Angel exhale loudly. “Angel…please don’t hate Steven and I.”

“I don’t hate you two. It’s just hard to go through the upheaval, you know?”

“I’m gutted about this. I don’t know what’s right or wrong any longer.”

“I had a feeling Billy has been unhappy lately. I felt that even before you guys went to London and Alex stayed with us.”

“Did you speak about it? Did you try to patch things up?

Suggest going to counseling?”

“Billy in counseling?” Angel laughed softly. “Uh no. Mark, I was unhappy as well.”

“He mentioned you’ve met someone?” Mark brushed at lint on his black slacks.

“I did. Someone who was not so enamored with me from my films. Though it was novel at the time, the image Billy had of me from those days was something I was weary of competing with.”

“Oh, love. I hear you. I can’t imagine dating a fan. Steven met me before I did the modeling.”

“That is nice. He doesn’t see you as some aging soft porn star.”

“Angel,” Mark shook his head as he spoke, “Billy never saw you that way. You know better.”

“Do I? Mark, he’s with Alex. Alex is my son’s age.”

“What does Oliver say about this?”

“He told me he figured they would connect again. He’s the one who informed me Alex had slept with Billy the week you two were away. Or at least he strongly suspected it. I had my suspicions too. Christ, the way those two looked at each other…”

Mark heard the door downstairs and Jack and Adam’s voices.

“Again, I am so sorry.”

“I’m not sure what anyone could have done to prevent those two from being together. And you certainly don’t have to apologize.”

“Yes. I do. My and Steve’s being gone, letting Alex stay with you, it was the catalyst for Billy and Alex to begin the affair.”

“Even before that week, Billy and Alex kept dancing around each other like two cocks in heat. There was no preventing this.
